On Progress Package AKA Payback Parriah-ment.

Erection’sElection’s in the air! I can even smell it with my nostrils sealed. Why the sudden interest in politics for the recent weeks? It’s like even the PRC’s living one floor below me was hailing “Pee-ae-Pee” this “Pee-Ae-Pee” that. Can’t blame the outcry. It’s all due to the Progress Package i guess.

If i remember correctly, Permanent residents aren’t entitled to the progress package? Now there can be only 2 ways why my PRC neighbour is wailing so loudly:

1. She got the PP.
2. She didn’t get the PP.

Getting the PP is like a sudden windfall for some…well…*ahem* most *ahem* of us living in the poorest part of Singapore. *cough* Boon Lay *cough*. I got 900. 900 seems alot to me right now because i’ve got so many projects to run and this 900 is helping me quite some much. But think about it. 900 for a vote for Pee-Ae-Pee.

Vote = soul

Worth it? Initially i was really ab-horred by the fact that giving out the PP in the wake of the impending election was like dangling a carrot infront of a donkey. It’s like selling our souls for a mere 900 bucks. MY SOUL IS PRICELESS. But can be rented out on short term basis though(max, you cheap bastard). After much tossing and turning of whether to sign up for the PP. The verdict was out. I’m signing up for it. The tossing and turning lasted for a excruciating 1.4 secs.

Come on. There’s no political freedom in Sinkapore! As a matter or fact, i reckon those SDP, SWP, PIE, ECP etc..etc… parties are just seat fillers. As a saying goes, “When there’s buddha, there’s devil.” There’s only 1 real contender, the mr “temporary hold there”, Chi@m sze t0ng of poop-tong pasir. Take a look at that place. So obscure, so laidback.Ahh~~~ Wonder if it was on the road directory.

If that’s the case, i’ll just happily sign that up and cast a vote on the MIW (Men in White, adapted from talkingcock.com) then. As if it’s going to change my life for the better. Even if they do win the west toast GRC, which is my area, what kind of ‘better’ things are there waiting for me? I’m living in a block full of foreign talents, PRCs, banglahs, burmese, thais, cambodians and a few lurking iraqis/afghans/arabs hiding behind the mailbox trying to blow us up. What can be more satisfying than that? Everyday feels like a peace-keeping mission, keeping out of harms way even when taking the lift, enduring the torrential downpours of drunk indians pee on the lift lobby, translating “go away” in 4 differents languages, fending bike thieves and garbage diggers from looting at our stuff. All in a day’s work.

By the way, boon-dae isn’t anywhere near west coast. Why are we on the same district as them? I wonder i wonder…

*Disclaimer*: I know this is a sensitive issue on the political scene of SG. But if anyone have any violent objections on this post, please inform me first to take it down before going to the authorities. I don’t want any trouble with law just by expressing my thoughts on my very own blog!”
